It is absolutely no secret here or with anyone who knows me, that I have a sweet tooth. Chocolate. Sigh, my nemesis! But life is too short to totally deprive yourself so I’m all about making this whole Fix lifestyle work for me long term! This is a super simple recipe but it saves me day after day from undoing all my hard work in my workouts. Added bonus, my kids love them and they’re a better snack for them than candy obviously! I’m a tea not coffee drinker but I’m sure they’d be just as good with coffee too. They are the perfect mid-afternoon pick-me-up to get you through until dinner. I count them as 1 tsp per ball (for the nut butter and honey). I ignore the oats. Yes they are there, but I’ve calculated there is about 1 tbsp of oats per ball. Not enough for me to count at less than 1/4 yellow container. I guess it depends how strict you are being, but for me doing this as a long term lifestyle, not training for a bikini competition, that’s good enough!
Ingredients (makes 8-10 balls)
1 yellow container of quick or rolled oats
2 tbsp nut butter (peanut or almond)
2 tbsp raw organic honey
1/2 – 1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1) Add everything to a bowl and mix. Yep, it’s that easy. Use a tsp to roll 8-10 balls, place on a plate and put in the refrigerator for an hour or so to firm up.
2) If you want them to last more than a day, hide them from your family at the back of the fridge 😉
1 gray tsp per ball (if you ignore the oats!)
